ISOSHADO PARTECIPA A "COUNTDOWN TO DISASTER" A BOREHAMWOOD, UK. Cari Amici, vi presentiamo una sequenza di immagini relative alla partecipazione di ISOSHADO a “Countdown to disaster”, la recente convention di Fanderson tenutasi a Borehamwood il 24 e 25 settembre 2005. Vi troverete, fra l’altro le foto scattate all’Alieno Gito Santana e al regista Alan Perry, che molti di noi hanno avuto modo di conoscere e apprezzare in occasione di alcuni eventi targati ISOSHADO. Abbiamo anche avuto la possibilità di incontrare per la prima volta l’attore Matt Zimmerman (che interpreta il co-pilota di Paul Foster nell’episodio “Exposed”) e l’attrice Jane Merrow (interprete della giornalista Jo Fraser nell’episodio “The responsibility seat”). Purtroppo altri protagonisti di UFO (Dolores Mantez, Shane Rimmer, David Lane e Keith Wilson) hanno dato forfait all’ultimo momento. La presenza di Gerry Anderson ha conferito all’evento il crisma dell’ufficialità per gli appassionati del genere. Una preziosa attrazione è stata rappresentata dalla vasta esposizione di materiale (modelli, costumi, oggetti, disegni originali, pupazzi ecc.) relativa a tutte le produzioni Andersoniane. Per quanto riguarda UFO, si potevano ammirare numerose repliche estremamente accurate dei modelli di studio; ISOSHADO ha collaborato esponendo due costumi originali (il costume bianco di Straker in “Identified” e numerosi altri episodi e la camicetta viola indossata dal Colonnello Lake in “Timelash”) e i bicchieri usati da George e Mike nelle sequenze iniziali e finali di “The Dalotek affair”. La trasferta è stata inoltre caratterizzata dall’immancabile “pellegrinaggio” su luoghi dove la serie fu realizzata. Fra le immagini potrete notare il quartier generale della SHADO, l’ospedale dove il Gen. Henderson viene ricoverato in “Confetti check A-O.K.”, sempre dallo stesso episodio l’abitazione di Nina Barry, e il piazzale (ora adibito a parcheggio) e uno degli alberi attorno al quale scorrazza l’auto d’epoca gialla e nera con a bordo Ed e il figlio Johnny in “A question of priorities”. Un simpatico invito a cena a casa di Gito Santana ha concluso quest’ultima piacevole trasferta inglese. Ottobre 2005 |

we have the pleasure of showing you a photo reportage on ISOSHADO’s attendance to “Countdown to disaster”, the Fanderson convention held in Borehamwood on Sept. 24 and 25. You will find, among others, some shots to UFO Alien Gito Santana and to UFO director Alan Perry, whom many of us have had the pleasure to meet in Italy during some ISOSHADO events. We also had the opportunity of meeting for the first time actor Matt Zimmerman (the interpreter of Paul Foster’s co-pilot in “Exposed”) and actress Jane Merrow (the interpreter of journalist Jo Fraser in “The responsibility seat”). We missed very much other UFO-related guests (Dolores Mantez, Shane Rimmer, David Lane and Keith Wilson) who had to cancel their presence for various reasons. Gerry Anderson’s presence was fundamental for the success of the event and was really appreciated by the attendees. An interesting large display of materials related to Gerry Anderson’s productions was also there (models, costumes, items, original sketches, puppets etc.). As far as UFO is concerned, many studio items accurate replicas were on display; ISOSHADO contributed with two original costumes (Straker’s white jumpsuit from “Identified” and many other episodes and the purple shirt worn by Col. Lake in “Timelash”), and the crystal glasses used by George and Mike in the initial and final sequences of “The Dalotek affair”. We also did what we usually call a “pilgrimage” on the UFO locations. Among the picts you shall notice the SHADO HQ, Gen. Henderson’s hospital and Nina Barry’s house from “Confetti check A-O.K.”, and one of the trees of the sequence with Straker and his son Johnny on the yellow Ford in “A question of priorities”.
